HR Benefits Specialist

Job Description

We are looking to hire an HR Benefits Specialist!

Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, wellness, and voluntary benefits.
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in Workday.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with benefit vendors, brokers, and insurance carriers to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.
  • Audit benefits data and maintain accurate employee records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits administration, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
  • Prepare benefits reports and analyze enrollment trends.

Open Enrollment Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual open enrollment process.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and benefits providers to develop enrollment materials and employee communications.
  • Conduct benefits presentations, information sessions, and employee education meetings.
  • Monitor enrollment activity and ensure timely completion of employee elections.
  • Troubleshoot enrollment issues and provide support throughout the enrollment period.
  • Evaluate post-enrollment data and recommend improvements to future enrollment processes.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Support

  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment activities including job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, and candidate communications.
  • Utilize Workday Recruiting to manage candidate pipelines and hiring workflows.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to support staffing needs.
  • Coordinate pre-employment screening, background checks, and onboarding activities.
  • Maintain recruitment records and generate hiring metrics and reports.

HRIS & Workday Administration

  • Maintain employee records and benefits information within Workday.
  • Support Workday transactions related to employee lifecycle events.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics.
  • Assist with system testing, upgrades, and implementation of new processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through Workday functionality and automation.

Employee Support

  • Provide guidance to employees regarding benefits, enrollment, leave programs, and HR policies.
  • Support new hire orientation and benefits enrollment.
  • Develop and maintain employee-facing benefits documentation and FAQs.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee information and records.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration and HR operations.
  • Experience managing annual open enrollment programs.
  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding activities.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing Workday HCM and Workday Recruiting required.
  • Experience working with benefit vendors and insurance carriers preferred.
